Governance

Overview

Lusaka is the capital city of Zambia and the administrative capital of the province and country. The city is the most urbanised and has an estimated total population of 3.5 million people with more than 70% living in informal settlements. The City Council encompasses seven (7) constituencies and thirty-eight (38) wards. These are smaller geographical units in the seven larger constituencies which together form the broader boundary jurisdiction of the greater Lusaka City.
